I've herd two different ways. Not sure if one is true or not. People told that I would have to drill a hole in the case and tap it. Then I herd just put it in the test hole. Which one is true ?

if you drill a hole anywhere, do it in the pan, not the case.

you could also put it in the test port if you wish

Why not just use a digital readout such as a dashdaq, H&S, edge or anything of the like to monitor temps. Rather than installing an analog gauge and having to find a port
