I know this topic has been discussed to death but I haven't been able to find the answer I was looking for. I know there are better gains with the 1000$ dollar full ported manifolds but I was wondering what the gains are like with a intake manifold that has simply had the stand pipes removed. I am not trying to make giant power just around 500 or so eventually. But I am wondering does just removing stand pipes make a difference in turbo spool and drivability at lower rpms?

It absolutely does. When removing the "runners" that the OEM bolts pass through, you rid the inside of restrictions that were created when they were installed. You will definitely notice a difference in turbo spool and should also notice some lower egt's as well. Definitely a good bang for your buck.

When removing just the posts there is still an obstruction on cylinder 1/2/3
Unless the manifold was cut open and machined down and the side obstruction has been removed. Hope this awnsers your questions bud

I'm just about finished with something pretty similar for about half the price of the fully ported manifolds on the market. Should be a good addition to trucks that are targeting the same goals you are. Let me know if I can help, I'd be more than happy too

What are they?
I have a Gogo, stage 1 with the tops cut off, and inside machined out...not too many restriction left in there at all.

When removing just the posts the casting from the side walls still obstructs flow is all I was getting at. Will it be better than stock? Yes indeed.

Your manifold the gogo is good to go!
