My dad is buying a new camper with cameras on it for changing lanes and backing up. I want to find a touchscreen radio/nav/video unit to replace his stock radio in his 450. He also talked about putting some more gauges on his truck. He only has egt and boost right now (truck is an 03 so it has the factory trans temp gauge which I would like to upgrade for him). After looking at some scangauges and edge insights I started thinking about whether or not it would be possible to somehow integrate gauges from the obdII port into his radio/nav system. So far, the possible solutions I could come up with was to buy something like the dashboss and have that information fed to your iphone or ios device and then have that connected to a ios compatible device such as a pioneer AVIC-X950BH. Not sure if this would work or if anyone has done this or something similar. It might be extra hassle, but I think it would look really clean. Has anyone done this or have any better ideas?
