Well... I am not very good at reading the power balance charts... but according to people much smarter than I, it looks like cylinder number 4 is dead. You can hear the in the video i posted where you just hear the truck turning over and it sounds like it is skipping... that is usually a sign that a cylinder has low compression. I pulled the valve cover and everything looks normal, but there is a weird faint sound like something is not right (slight tapping). I pulled the injector plug on cylinder 4 just to verify that was the dead cylinder. Cylinder 4 not firing - YouTube Then I took off the oil rail to get a better look. You can still hear the dead miss and a "poofing" sound. But the valve train seems to be moving ok. Valves dead miss - YouTube I took off the rockers and the push rods and those look good  I was really hoping it was just a bent push rod... When the truck was running I pulled the oil fill cap to check and see if compression was slipping past the rings/piston... Nope... had very little blow by and no one cylinder was puffing out more than the others. So I would assume not the rings. A bad lifter should not cause a dead miss... right? It would just cause the valve to open "slightly" later and and close earlier... but not a dead miss??? or am I wrong? Am I right to now assume that it is a valve issue? Next I am going to try to do a leak down test and see if I can hear where the air is going. I just need to get the right parts... or try to make something. Anybody have any good ideas on that?
