I really don't understand why this happens. Last winter I was having problems with my 08 Ford F350 when it got cold, temps between 10 to -5 degrees. Lest say I'm going 60 My pyro and boost would sky rocket. But I wouldn't be going any faster. I would still be going 60. Also my back pressure would stay at 30 35. I've been told to change my BP sensor and I did but it still does it when it's cold outside. I was also told that it might be something wrong with my low pressure turbo.

Any info can help. Thanks.

IIRC hearing that at cold temps the EBPS tube will freeze and that will cause everything to go outta wack. It will also cause high boost ,no power etc

If you replaced the tube then your ok, if not you need to clean that out.

It could be the actuator on the Turbo, you need to monitor VGT duty cycle while it happens. Cruising you should be around 50% just maintaining speed

Move your egr block off plate up to the joint behind the turbo and tap the plate and hook the sensor there. My truck did the same thing. When I removed that egr pipe you wouldn't believe how much water came out of there. Then I just moved my egr block off up top, I would like to see it freeze up again when it's 6 inches away from a hot turbo

I think I may be having the same problem. Temps got down around zero here and boost was doing funny things. Going down the road it would drop to almost 0. If I leaned on the throttle it would lag and then shoot up way higher than normal until I backed off again and then rapid drop to almost nothing. The day it warmed up closer to 20 it seemed to run normal. Today, the temp dropped and it acted up again.

It was warmer today so I drove it around. Seems to run fine when it's warm enough.

What are the options to fix this? I see one person moved the blocker plate up by the turbo and relocated the sensor to it. Is that the only fix? Any help on this is appreciated.

Also, just curious, how common of a problem is this for people?

ya-move the block off plate the the one behind the turbos. your problem is the ebp sensor freezing or moisture in the tube freezing, causing an inaccurate reading.
