Was on ebay, and looking around. Came across a deal I thought I'd share with ya'll. I change my oil every 3500-4000 miles, so its a deal to a guy like me. Im sure I'm not the only one.

Im sure links to ebay or other sites are frowned upon so look up "transglobalauto" as the sellers name. He is a selling sets of (10) copper washer gaskets for the drain plug (part #3C3Z-6734AA) for $8.97 and free shipping.

Dealer gets $4.97 a pop for one of these washers.

Why don't you guys use quick drain valves so you don't have to worry about the plug or copper washer again?

It doesn't drain the oil any quicker, but allows draining of the pan without tools.
And would solve your copper washer issues.

Just a thought.

Anyone can drain the oil...anytime.

Somebody that doesn't like you a lot would have to know you had it on there for this to matter. If they are under your truck with the intention of draining your oil they will do it anyway.

I would be concerned about it on trucks that get off road too.

Its an inch long. I would be concerned with anything hitting my oil pan whether this was on there or not.

I just ordered another one for my 6.0.

Agreed on the copper washers being readily available at the parts store
most I see are in the " Help Packages self serve"

The Fumoto isn't for Me I don't have a prob spinning a bolt out

and My Bypass filter has an oil sample feed

but to each their own apparently they sell a safety clip for the fumoto

For me its not the spinning the bolt out that is the problem. Its the seepage from the bolt that I don't like. If I remember to pick up a copper washer every time then I guess its not a problem. I get my filters online and my oil from walmart, so I would have to make a special trip to an autoparts store just to get a copper washer. Thats where my problem is.

All of my vehicles have a fumoto valve, love them. Don't have to worry about dropping the bolt in the pan or getting hot oil all over my hand.
