What are the experiences with large injectors and nozzles and cold weather starting? been around zero or less in MN and have a friend with 205/100. Truck fires right up but misses/smokes like the dickens till runs about 5 minutes. Has innovative tuning. Twin turbos. I have had some experience with the larger nozzles and not quite sure if its pretty normal or if there is an issue.

From my experience when I had 225/100's.....cold starts sucked until the truck was warmed up, then every start was good after that...it was the initial start of the day, everyday.

I think they are just cold-blooded-bitches.

With 5w40 Synthetic and Rev x, running our 225/100s, mild inductive heating custom ficm tune from PHP, Gearhead ECM files, at 5*F outside temp 20* Oil temp. I have no issues with cold starts, runs perfect, hardly any hazing, 100% smooth.

I am roughly in the same area as Greg running same oil with rev x and 300cc/100's from mpd and mine starts up and idles incredibly smooth. and the hazing is minimal at like 5 degrees, and none at say 25 degrees

Mine withy 150 nozzles is a bit smokey and grumpy when it's cold. I believe I do not have the inductive heating ficm tune so I'm sure that would affect it. It lopes a few times when it starts sometimes and hazes for awhile. But after a minute or two it runs smooth. This is with fresh 15-40 rotella and no rev x. I'm sure that would also make a difference.

No ficm tune. Schaeffers 5w40 synthetic oil. At about 25* or above it is not bad at all. Some hazing. Below that different story.

With my 190/100's when its 20 of below it will lope a couple times usually then purr like a kitten. Hazes a little bit until operating temp. Renegade injectors. And rotella 15/40. Switching to Shaffer's 5/40 full synthetic this week we will see if that does anything.
