leaking coolant

Truck has been leaking coolant lately. I have to add at least a gallon every few days. Noticed its leaking from the passenger side, in front of the trac bar. There's also some nasty black chit in the degas bottle. Truck never gets hot, I only drive it about 15 mins to work everyday. It was supposibly flushed and replaced by the dealership mechanic a yr ago when they did injector cup replacement and ucvh replacement. Any ideas....?

Water pump? Just crawl under there with some rags and a flashlight.

Probably so, it does have 250k on the stock pump...

I would think the water pump, generally leaks from the weep hole out of the bottom of the pump. Your degas bottle vents to the passengers side, are you sure the black crud is not fuel or oil in the coolant and it is pushing out coolant.

Don't know, I'm tired of Effin with this pos Ford. Needs a new starter, needs motor work done too it bc the ***kin tools at ford didn't fix it right the first time. Needs to be flushed, new water pump, belt is making a stretching sound, has an axle seal leak, ***kin pos I'm ready to set fire to the bastard.

It has 250,000 miles. Things break and sounds like maybe one thing after another but preventative maintenance might be a good idea from here on out. Not sure if you owned it from when it was brand new. That would have eliminated a screechy belt at the very least.

No i am the second owner, picked it up at 90k. That was in 07. Unfortunately I haven't been thru the best of times financially in the past and maintenance took a back seat. It's a good truck it just needs to be fixed. Just don't know how to do any of it.
