Thanks, so maybe i should keep it then? Were did you find one so cheap? There like 125 in lmc. Does it take any special tools to get the sending unit out?

You can go the redneck repair route and JB weld it...:lookaround:

Wasn't bad at all. I borrowed a buddy's lift so it made it easier. I Just unbolted the two metal straps and took the sending unit out of the tank and swapped it to the new one. I also used old seatbelt straps and put pieces on the metal straps that hold the tank up.

If you want only a single tank look at the 38 gallon bronco tank for the rear replacement. You'll loose your spare tire carrier but you'll have your single tank.

My buddy installed the Spectra Premium F26E 38 gallon aftermarket tank and got the spare back up under the tank, a little less ground clearance though.

The 38 gallon rear tank is Spectra Premium F26E from either Amazon or RockAuto.com. $150-165. The tank is originally from a F-250 351 1988 truck. Or you can use the Spectra Premium F26D that is a little cheaper at about $135. There is a vent bracket that has to be removed when using the F26D tank. Both tanks come with the lock ring kit from RockAuto. The mounting kit and fuel pickup extender kit is included from both places.

The Bronco 32 gallon tank also works but has less ground clearance. Spectra Premium F8D with the large hole for the fuel level sender.

RockAuto sells the stock side tanks reasonable also. About $70 and up depending on brand.

I think Jim from rosewood installed that spectra f26e and did a write. I'd like to do that and sump it to get rid of my front tank and selector valve and to complete my fuel system.

I did the spectra F26D (didn't know there was an E at the time) they are the same dimensions as stock only 7" deeper iirc. My spare fits under there no problem on the sig truck. Bronco is 13" deeper than stock. Sprayed my tank with DIY undercoating prior installing. Total capacity for me now is 105 gallons, stock front, F26 rear and drybox fuel cell combo.
