I let a 'cowgirl' condition the leather in my Excursion earlier this year (...left myself wide open with that statement LOL) and she broke out her saddle dressing stuff and went to town. I wish I could remember everything she said, but among her advice was NOT to use petroleum-based products to condition leather. (like most of the stuff at autoparts??) Something about glycerin-based soaps and animal oils (mink oil?) making the leather more supple and keeping it that way longer. Basically, the products you'd use on a baseball glove or a saddle are what we should be using to keep the leather from drying out...
