Guys can you give me a run down of advantages and disadvantages of doing new leafs vs. adding a block for lift? Was ball parking 6 inches maybe a few more...

But if you're talking about the rear axle, I think all leafs looks better and is safer, but I can't say how it would ride/carry a load.

How tall are you thinking? Going too tall of a block will increase the effects of axle wrap, however a soft spring will as well. Traction blocks , or a bolt on system. like those from OUO will be a way to control that side effect.

Spring in the rear to help eliminate axle wrap. But not many bars will fit with an all spring lift.

If your just running around on the street go blocks. If you plan on doin some real off roading go with leafs . If it was me I would do leafs if you tow and their too soft you can always add air helper springs

I was going to be doing some offroading with this truck. It will be a dedicated toy truck. I know offroading a diesel is dumb but I don't want a jeep like everyone else and we don't usually ever go anywhere to insane so I'd like to see if she could hold her own. As for axle wrap, what about a weld on traction bar bracket with some sorta quick disconnect. I'd love to mount them on the top of the axle, pull a pin and push them up into the underbody. I think then I could get away with a spring for mud drags and not worry about messing them up while offroading.

I was thinking about having Alcan make me a set of springs... Even considering orbit eyes but i'm not sure about those on such a big truck.

The tow rig is the CCLB F350 in my sig.. the toy truck will either be a RCLB or ECSB.. I haven't decided or found the truck just yet...

Ballparking 6" but maybe more like 8. Can always add lift to a 6" spring with small blocks right?

I put a fabtech 6 inch spring in the back of my truck and it raised the rear an inch when I removed the block. By block was also 3 5/8 of an inch (early 99).

I've got 4" blocks on top of factory 2" blocks in the rear and I can safely say that sucks. Bought it this way but I'm planning on swapping some springs in there. You can feel the axle moving when braking and accelerating. It's an Ex though and they don't handle for shat anyways.

When i had my 04 F350 I lifted it about 6".
I had 4" rear springs made for the truck and used a F250 block so I only lifted the back 2". I think it rode better than stock. The trailer sagged the truck about the same amount a stock so they could hold the weight.
I am just not a fan of big blocks in the back.
