Long crank time after rebuild

I just completed a complete rebuild of my 01 7.3 Powerstroke and I'm experiencing longer than normal crank times every time I start it. Cold or hot doesn't make a difference. Only time it is better is if I immediately try to start it right after shutting it off. The HPOP reservoir stays full to within an inch of the top. While cranking the oil pressure gauge in the truck doesn't move for about 5 sec. then suddenly the motor fires up and at the same time the pressure gauge jumps up to register excellent pressure. The motor sounds great doesn't stumble and idles smooth, power seems to be good too. I used the Ford rebuild kit so everything including the LPOP is new. During the rebuild I also installed a regulated return system, hutch mod., oil crossover line, banjo bolt kit, stage 1 injectors, PHP tunes, and rebuilt the IPR. About a year ago I had installed the kit from DieselOrings.com to the HPOP. Before pulling the motor it was starting just fine. Any ideas?

How many miles do you have on it? If its under 100 miles keep driving and then see how it is after that. Air can get stuck in places and causes issues. I think most experience long crank times when they do anything with the HPOP oil system where air can get in. You could try pulling your ICP sensor in case a bubble is under there as they can take a looong time to work their way out.. I normally pull the icp and the second to top plug on the passenger side oil rail. As well as the sensor on top of the hpop res. I fill all till full. Then button up everything and crank a few times then open teh hpop res again and refill. Do that 3 or so times until it no longer goes down.

To clear up is usually 25-100 miles

You can throw a scanner on there and see what its doing at start up as well as do a bit of data logging while your running just to see how everything is doing.
