you went from old age reliability with the 7.3, to the new age reliability of a 6.7. Going back to 6.4 is a step in the wrong direction. Remember that Navistar rushed the engine into production to meet the emission requirements. Long term, this proved detrimental to the longevity of the engine. Not only that, there are some inherent design flaws that are impossible to detect or avoid. High pressure fuel pump, cracked pistons and lifters are the first that come to mind. That doesnt even include worn/broken rocker arms, cracked egr coolers etc. I know people will say just remove the emissions components and you will be fine but i have proved otherwise. They are gutless fuel whores in stock form and a ticking time bomb in tuned form. When a six four goes down, it is never a cheap fix. Over 30% of engine related failures in most six fours end up being catastrophic or require major engine work.
