Ok, so here is the deal. I just bought a 2007 F-250 SuperDuty, I already know the normal problems that plague these trucks im just looking for opinions. I plan on doing EGR delete(with tuner as i have read 05-07 throw cel) as well as exhaust and intake. I'm not looking to make a "monster truck" or "black smoke" like some retards. I am in the military and move around a lot so my endstate is to make my truck more reliable before the dreaded problems set in. My big question is with the egr, what seems to be the better ones on the market and what kind of tuner is normally used. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i was directed here by a friend who says you guys are all very knowledgeable.

Thanks for the reply! I've seen sct on a few of the egr delete products, I was thinking of head studs, got a 3000mile drive infront of me so no problems would be nice lol. I do t want to run anything special I'd probably keep it on stock or gas mileage setting anyways. So your saying the stock cooler is junk pretty much?

Personally I like RCDs EGR delete. Its one piece so there are no fittings to leak. Really with all the more your doing I wouldnt even bother getting an intake.

Bullet proof diesel egr delete, while your in there, their external oil cooler and oil filters are worth putting in.

RCD delete's are nice. I like the Bullet proof oil coolers. I never had one but SCT is the way to go for a tuner in a 6.0 from all my years reading on these forums. As far the intake, your not going to gain much of anything changing out the stock intake.. Keep your oil and coolant clean and good luck.. I have had two of them and that's enough..

They're right about the intake...the stock filter can hold about 5-6lbs of dirt and still adequately filter and handle close to 500hp..but they left out a few things..find a good diesel shop to do this work unless you're going to do it yourself. I was in the navy and we had "hobby shops" with bays and two post lifts that were nice. but when you do the egr delete, youre better off going ahead and getting an oil cooler with it and its usually a recommendation anyway..

Save the money for the intake and buy a coolant filter kit. they're only like 150 and save oil cooler life. The left over casting sand that comes from the egr is what eventually ruptures the oil cooler...oil in the degas bottle will make for a bad day.

If you're just going to put an econ tune or something, i wouldn't worry about the stock studs..If you're going to run in a performance preload, then i would consider it but you'll be just fine with that.

Don't put green or any other color coolant from auto parts stores coolant in it either. The stuff cant handle the heat and will turn to a gelly substance. That will cause blown head gaskets for sure. Use the Ford Premium Gold coolant at the dealership!!!

Good Luck!
