Well first off, I want to regear my truck since 4.10's with 38's are working out very well. i also want to add trutracs just for insurance mainly, note that this truck is a daily driver and wont see off road all the time besides going hunting, and getting my boat into some of the smaller private lakes around here in SD. Mainly I'm asking what route you all would take if you were in my shoes.....Thanks for any input.

I put a Trutrac in the rear of my 2006 about 6 months ago and have been pleased. I no longer spin a single wheel when the pavement is wet. I haven't noticed much difference off road, but I have been off the road very little since then.

I also have one in the front of my '86 Chevy and have been very pleased with it there as well. I've never been able to get just one front tire to spin, unless it was completely off the ground. I'd love to put one in the front of the Ford as well, but I can't justify it at this point in time.... too many other things on the list!

I guess it all depends on what you want to spend. I would definitely put a TrueTrac in the rear. But if you don't off road much and rarely use 4wd then you shouldn't need it up front. But since you are regearing anyways it would be the time to put one in the front since it'll all be out. So it just depends if you want to spend the money.

I love my TrueTrac. So much more predictability compared to the terrible stock LSD.

I have a T T in the front of my truck and when the factory LS goes out in the rear a T T will go in. It has been great, I don't offroad but will use 4wd some around the house or in ice and snow. Not a problem in the past two years.

If I was changing gears, I'd definitely spring for the Trutrac at the same time. It will only cost more time/money if you want to go back and do it later.

:whs:

I run them front and rear. Couldnt be happier.

Cant even tell its back there until the moment you want it to be, at which point it seems to magically appear and do its job

well I just ordered 4.56's and beings I'm a student my income is very low but I'm going to save and buy trutracs for the front and rear because SD can be a pita in the winter with these wide tires of mine. Also the stock LSD sucks because it only works when I don't need it to. The absolute main reason I want them, is so I can drive my truck on the lakes when there is alot of snow on them to get my permanent ice shack out there (my polaris ranger slips the clutch really bad pulling it for some reason?) Thank you all for the very good info I appreciate it.
