Dont know to much about powerstrokes. Mainly work on big trucks/machinery so I need some help. Buddie at work has a 2000 7.3 truck starts and runs but at 30 to 35 mph it just loses all power and cant get it to go much faster. He took it to dealership and the said it was injector pump. I didn't even think they had injector pumps, just fuel pump and lift pump? Any ideas on troubleshooting. He had all 8 injectors changed about 6 months ago. Changed fuel filters and oil. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

The injection pump is called the High Pressure Oil Pump. HPOP. If it's not supply enough pressure it would cause a lack of power. You need to read the high oil pressure, it could just the IPR, Injection Pressure Regulator. That is connected to the bottom of the HPOP which is underneath the fuel bowl.

Haven't heard if he scanned it for codes. Its sitting at dealership rite now. They wanted arm and leg to fix it and asked if I could do it and said injection pump was out didn't really cross my mind that they were referring to hpop. I was kinda curious anout irp sensor. I'll hook up solus to it tomorrow supposed to be bringing it to my house I figured id try to get a idea of whats going on before I just start slapping parts on it. Can you un plug the irp to see if it changes?

get it on the solus before you start unplugging stuff... you can wiggle connections and make sure they are all tight but try to get codes first..
