Ok so it started out that I needed u-joints on the front drive line, I couldn't buy the joints right away but I pulley it out and left it out for three or four months. Finally got new joints and a new flange put on and installed it. While driving with the hubs locked there is a slight shake and with and without the hubs locked there is a loud clunking noise while accelerating.

What could this be. Bolts are tight and t-case is full of a blackish fluid (maybe burnt) can't really tell what it smells like might be ATF??

Are we talking the front drive shaft or the axle shaft u joints.

The t case takes atf.

If were talking the front drive shaft. With the front hubs unlocked the shaft does not spin (in 2wd), so any noises made shouldnt relate to the front end.

Ok so I have some corrections.
This is for the front drive line.
Shakes when;
in 4H/L with hubs unlucked
With hubs locked in 2wd

Clunking noise when in 4wd and hubs locked accelerating.

The definition of the words front drive line to me mean: t case, front drive shaft, everything inside of the front axle and the axle its self.

Did you replace the u joints in the drive SHAFT or the axle SHAFTS. If I were to assume, it would be the drive shaft since its easlily removed.

Is the constant velocity joint tight, if you push up and down on the drive shaft towards the t case area does it move a lot or a little?

If anything pull the shaft back out and do the same tests, except 4lo and see if the vibes are gone.

The drive shaft, Yes the joints are tight doesnt move hardly. Why exept 4lo?

I know my truck needs to be moving to engage 4lo. Without the front shaft in the only way to engage 4lo is at a stop. Might not work without a lot of crunching sounds.

Ok so I went out and pushed the drive shaft up and it does move at the flange(2) where it goes onto the drive shaft by the spring(6).

This is the second flange that has been put on. I put the first one on and I knew for sure that I something wrong so I took it to someone that should have know what they were doing but maybe they didn't. everything was tight when i got it from them so I didn't think anything of it.
