Low Voltage

I was driving for a fishing trip last thurs and checked "Vbatt" on the DashDaq and to make a long story short for the last 1200 miles (at least) it has read between 9.5 and 10.2 volts. Batteries have green showing on the top. I pulled one batt and hooked it to a charger and it wasn't dead. I did the system check on the dash and it says " Charging system OK". The DashDaq has no codes. All lights, radio, etc... work fine. Truck starts w/ no trouble. The only issue I have seen is that I can't change tunes, the DashDaq says "system voltage too low" or something to that effect. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

With that low of voltage the truck shouldn't start, you should have a battery light on the dash almost instantly, and the system check should say something about it. I have never seen it before but i'm betting there is an issue with the dash daq. What I would do is use a multimeter to check actual batter voltage. i'm thinking you will fund closer to 12.7 v not running and about 14.3 running. Have you tried unhooking the dashdaq and plugging it back in? Check voltage under obd generic and ford specific.

thanks for the reply.
I checked voltage on both the "c" and "d" analog input pages on the dashdaq. They read the same. I have unplugged and replugged and no change. There is no battery light and the battery gauge on the gauge cluster shows normal battery charge. I have seen the DashDaq read 14v, in the past.

I would say there is something wrong with the dashdaq. I would confirm good voltage with a multimeter first but from the sounds of it that's the issue. You might contact Spartan about it and see of they have ever ran into anything else.like that before

thanks again for your input.
I have posted @ Spartan and emailed Drew Tech. Nothing has changed on my truck recently and I don't know how long it has been reading 10V, since I haven't checked VBATT in a month or so anyways. DashDaq works fine otherwise which is strange.

Mine has done this twice since I've owned it! But it goes back to normal after a few minutes. All the lights go dim and my radar detector starts beeping and says low voltage on it. Hasn't done it for a few months now tho ???

First thing Id do is load test the batteries, I found I had one of mine giving up the ghost after 100k so I replaced both of them.

just ended up being a FUBAR DashDaq for no good reason. Sent it in for a BENJAMIN and got it fixed. Put 2 new Yellow Top Optima's in for no reason (other than they look cool).
