Does anybody else with a 3/5 drop have problems with axle slam under daily operation? I am thinking about C-notching 3" and adding some bags.... but that sounds like work, and I really need to get cracking on my other truck. I just wanted to know if anybody else is running into the same problem.

Pretty common. Trim your bump stops if you haven't already. A c-notch is a great add on but needs to be where some money is focused. When I was researching mine I can across a lot of really cheesy options that would have probably yielded some poor results. The nicer notch kits or fabricated setups carried a price tag but obviously would be worth it.

bumpstops are trimmed but it still slams HARD. I have all of the steel for a 3" notch... just not the desire to cut into my frame again haha

Only the rear slams. I am going to add bags for load compensation, but I'd like to keep the stock spring rate for daily use and just add some up-travel...... But by the time I do all of that... Should I just four link it and be done?

Ever think that adding bags first might kerp it from slamming kinda like a air shock

Yes, I thought about that, but I would think that it would still stiffen up my ride more so than if I allowed more room for up-travel. Maybe? Correct me if I am wrong.

oh ok... the rubber bumper load supports can act as the cushion also.. they dont affect unloaded ride quality.

It would all dependon what size bag and what psi you ran then at. ..big bag low psi makes for a soft ride

Think Lincoln town car with air suspension

Even when unloaded, if I hit a bump in the road the right way, The axle makes contact with the bump stops (which are trimmed) and it hurts inside the cab.

Jim, I understand what you are saying. But ultimately I would be using the bags to limit suspension travel during unloaded operation, which would make my ride harsher.

Understandable, but these are somewhat softer then the factory bumpstops. Go to youtube and type in timbren ses. They help with load support and cushion the ride.. just a thought bud. as I have never delt with a low ridin hoopty.. lol. Firestone work rites have their kits replacement rubber for $40 a piece and I would think that even those would be sufficient do to the timbrens being twice as heavy duty and twice the cost... for $80 and a couple washers and a bolt I would try it and if it doesnt work ill buy them from you. Might surprise ya.

Ok. I would buy just the replacement bumpers and build spacers if you even need spacers.... no way the kit is worth another $100 for a steel tube, a steel plate and hockey pucks cut in half.

Do it right and do a notch. Not that bad to do, and you will actually retain travel in the suspension.

I think what I am going to end up doing is a 3" tube notch, plated on the back... Hydraulic bump-stops... and bags for load...

I am dead set on having this thing ride well during daily operation and while towing. Suspension travel is my friend. I am just surprised that more guys with 3/5 drops don't run into this problem?

I think that most people don't use their lowered trucks as daily or abusive as others.
