Ok, so after buying my truck I realized that both map lights in the from do not work. The truck has a sun roof so these are the two lights that you push on to get to turn on. After doing some looking around to figure out how to change them, and asking a buddy, the only thing I came up with was pulling the plastic shroud down out of the ceiling.

Well.... Went to do this tonight to get the bulbs out, and broke what appears to be all 4 posts that hold the shroud into the plastic bulb housing... Now im F**KED. The only thing I can figure is now I need to replace the whole thing. How do you go about changing these bulbs? And now how do I change this whole thing? Please tips, steps, and pictures would be much appreciated...

There were a few minor things that went unmentioned prior to my arrival.... The drivers seat has a 1" tear where you sit, new seat cover cost me $460, and a small blemish on one of the rear fender flares where its like barely not sticking or whatever to the metal, which looks to be a quick fix at a body shop... Id tempt to do it myseld but have no idea how to attach those fenders or stick it properly. You could hardly notice unless you were looking cloesly.

Other then that it rides great and is everything I hoped for, no hiccups (knock on wood) on my 2700 mile journey from Nogales Arizona, to where I live here in upstate New York. Love the interior of the truck and the sync is a huge improvement over the 08 nav. Just need to figure out this blasted map light, got the running board lights out to see what they were to buy LED ones as well.

Back on topic, ANYONE with info or who have done this before please chime in, Id hate to bring it to a stealership to get something as silly as this repaired/replaced

I am sure someone will chime in soon.

Glad to hear it was worth your drive. I love my Harley truck and I added a Kenwood Nav and it had an amp and speakers when I bought it.

Sorry for derail....

Anyone? Someone has to know how to take these lights out. I don't even want to know what it's gonna cost me to buy a new one, or how to get it in

Yep.... had my buddy come over again today, the whole white assembly comes down. I dont understand why it didnt come down when applying pressure to it, rather then snapping the outer shroud off. Now to order a new black shroud.... Thanks for the help man!

I replaced my map lights with white led lights and the whole assembly just pops out and comes down. I have to fiddle with it quite a bit cuz the sockets are kinda messed up and don't make good contact resulting in dim lights. Never had a problem with popping it out

I pulled mine down the other day to change the bulbs. Turns out the bulbs were good, its the housing that's melted causing a bad contact. I'm gonna order a new assembly and switch to led's.

I had the same thing with mine. It melted a little and messed up the contacts. For some reason with the led lights in my maps lights stay on all the time but they are very very dim when they are clicked "off" just a heads up. They do the same thing in my brothers car
