Getting ready to replace my entire assembly. Ordered a full set up from RockAuto over the weekend. Master, slave, lines and reservoir. Says its all prebled too. Anyways, I've never tackled this before. Seems pretty straight forward, but does anyone have or know where I can find a step by step for removal/reinstall of the master cylinder? Either a write up or just something illustrated would be great. Or anyone who has done it before that wants to offer suggestions or tips I'd be glad to hear them!

It is a pretty simple process. The end that goes in the transmission is twist out the old and twist in the new. Channel locks pliers work good for that step. On the end that goes in the transmission is a plastic retainer strap on the push rod. DO NOT Remove The Strap. It will break off at the first push of the clutch pedal. Normal procedure. There is another push rod connected to the clutch pedal. A small plastic retainer clip holds the push rod to the pedal. Always inspect and replace the plastic retainer as it wears out because it is only plastic. Another thing to inspect is the nub on the pedal assembly where the push rod connects with the plastic retainer. If worn replace pedal and push rod. These parts should be round and not oval shaped. Other than that just remove inspect the parts mentioned and replace if needed and reinstall new master slave combo. Push clutch pedal to break plastic retainer strap, pump a few times and check engagement.

Sounds simple enough! What holds the master cylinder to the firewall? I'm assuming it's just a couple bolts or something? And thanks for the tip about the retainer strap. I would have cut it off before installing and been sick!

You are correct. It bolts to the firewall. It has been a few years and I want to say IIRC it uses the bolts that hold the clutch pedal assembly to the firewall.
