Hay there guys it seems there is a little mix up about what trans fluid should be put in the 08 and never trucks. In the service manual for the truck it says to use Mercon SP but I have heard that Mercon LV supersedes the SP fluid. Is this correct?

i may be wrong, but i think ford was switching over from using everything SP to LV, may be the other way around, but they are both just as good. IIRC

LV is the replacement fluid for SP, most ford dealers dont even have sp in stock any more

I put SP back in my trans when I did the converter recently, but the next change out will be LV then.

LV from what i understand is supposed to be a lifelong fluid, but that usually just means they recommend 100k mile changes with it but i still change mine every 25-30k
