I'm ready to buy new wheels/tires. I'm going with 35x12.5x20 with 20x12 -44 offset wheels. I was told I could only tow about 5,000lbs with that setup b/c the tires couldn't handle more weight b/c they'd be stretched out . how true is this?

A guy at a tire shop told me that. I've never heard of anything like that before. I don't tow all the time but after he told me that I just wanted to ask the guys on here to double check. thanks.

I had 35x12.5x20's on my 6.0 with a 20x12 -44 rim...
And now same rim and 305x55x20(33.1x12.0) tire...
But trucks have towed 10-15k often no probs. you're not stretching the tire and even if you were, you still don't have to worry.
