How does additional horsepower effect the stock transmission tune and the relearn process? What is the reason for tuning the transmission with same power level tune the engine has? Does anyone have any experience running a mild tune while utlizing the stock transmission tune? Seems like my truck drives good stock and not sure why adding 40-50 hp gives me a reason to add the transmission tune.
Even with a 80hp tune is a street/performance Trans tune really help the truck for daily driving on the highway or light weight towing. Isn't that what the tow haul feature is for, to hold higher RPMs, and changes the shift points.
I have noticed on here in the dozens of pages of Trans tune threads I've read guys are complaining about shifts and drive-ability once they tune the transmission, and there also is a lot of guys writing good things that the custom Trans tune has increased the quality of drive-ability.
Just wanting to gain some knowledge and hear what others have to say.
Regards.

trans tune just helps put power to the ground and is better for the trans typically

but I know someone who ran the canned H&S "hot" tune (the old high boost tune for that matter) with the stock trans tune for a long time with zero issues

I'm still running the pre-dorky tunes. Lol.... however I have a Trans tune to compliment it. BUT.... I don't abuse mine!
