Mini max update question

I haven't updated my mini max for about a year and a half, some one said if you do update it and you have a off road tuner that it will update it to a street tuner, is this true? If not is it worth it to update it now, any major improvements since the last time I done it

it will not make it a street tuner if you update it.
there is not really any need to update if you are running custom tunes anyway imo.

I do run gear head but I also run a custom tune I made. I updated my mm software but was wondering what I would gain out of updating the minimax/hd300

and really... nothing if running 6.4 tunes. they haven't changed anything as far as 6.4 tuning since the 2nd MCC release
