new to the site, I have a 97 f-350 auto. Its just a parts truck i got off of a psn member. the problem is the truck misses/stumbles when free revved. It idles fine, and if I slowly rev it it will rev up past 3000+ rpm. but if i hit it and harder then that it will rev up to 2-2500 rpm. and wont rev past it. every so often it will tho. It smokes ALOT of white/blueish smoke when it misses aswell
Its a rusted out truck i bought for a motor swap, but i want to get it to run right before i pull it. all the brake lines are rusted so I cant get a good test with a load on it.
recent parts were,
fuel pump
water pump
starter
batteries
fuel filter
oil filter
fuel lines
rebuilt the fuel bowl
glow plugs
air filter
cam sensor
the truck cranks somewhat then my other 7.3s do to start. and I drained the oil and almost 5 gal came out! it seemed like it was thin (consistency of water when warm) would this cause it?
Im leaning towards injector o-rings, fuel bowl was full of crap and the filter was black.
any one have any other ideas? IPR maybe?
the help is greatly appreciated, I dont want to take the time or money on the o-rings or IPR and have it not fixed
I tried unplugging the icp aswell and it didnt help
