Mpg ??/?? to expect on a stock 6.4 F250 XL regular cab long bed, auto trans? I've heard 15/20mpg but wanted to get some real numbers from real people. Thanks in advance for the info.

Search it, you'll find several threads on MPG in the 6.4 section. And everyone has their own experiences. I've heard everything from 10-20. Bone stock, 14 is probably a good average.

With the stock wheels and tires, I got about 16-17 on the highway and about 13-14 around town. With the wheels and tires I have now, I get about 14-16 on the highway and about 11 around town.

on edit: I see you said stock...I dont remember...like 14-16 on the highway

How about after you delete the dpf, cat, egr, and muffler and have an intake and tune.

I use to have a crew cab 7.3 on 35" dune grapplers with an intake, open exhaust, and a tune and I squeezed out 25 on the highway
( going 55mph, yes people were pissed). Was thinking I could do the same or better with a 6.4 regular cab (2,000lbs lighter than my crew cab).

Bone stock figure to ave about 12

All i'm getting w/ gearhead hot street, 4inch turbo back, full EGR delete & an AFE CAI. I have 35's & 3.73's. Long block only has about 5,000 miles on it, how many miles till its broke in? I didnt buy the truck for gas mileage but everyones 14-16mpg claims around town SURE would be nice!!!

When I was running Matts tunes I got really good mileage, like 17.5 average and even better on the freeway. MPG will go up with higher mileage but it won't really be broken in till you get it over 100K. You may have dirty fuel filters too, tires are not helping matters but are not to far off the mark of the stock ones either. I'd say try to be more careful of your driving habits and see if you notice an improvement. But some times with these trucks I have noticed not everyone reacts the same, also never go by the Lie-O-Meter on the dash. Always hand calculate your mileage for the most accurate result.

All hand calculated, have already changed both filters twice since getting the truck back from the new long block & all new injectors. Driving habits I have switched around, it just always seems to stay pretty consistent. Just can't figure out why it doesn't get any better.
300-320 miles & needing to put more fuel in it, is kinda annoying.

I have the small tank.... Never let it past 50 miles to empty signal & have only ever got the tank to hold 24 gallons. My #'s are not that abnormal, just most tuned trucks as mine is seem to get better. I have never Drivin it more than 40 miles 1 way other than when I took a trip towing my boat.

You must have an issue some where, with a topped off tank I can average 525-550 and I have even stretched it to 600 before on long freeway trips and mine is only a 30.5 gal tank. If your shortblock is new that could be some of it but I think there may be an issue somewhere else.

Don't even know where to begin diagnosing & issue. EGT's are all normal, it doesn't over work, coolant temps, oil temps are good. FRP seems to be fine. Truck is getting a Lil better mileage than before the long block when it spun a main.
