I posted up a thread back in December about how my truck was running rough. I ran through every rough running flowsheet I could find. After doing all kinds of tests, I ended up extending my fuel pressure tester 12" so I could drive and see it. Turned out my o-ring in the FP regulator was mushed, I was getting it down under 30 psi driving lightly. I swapped a spare one in and that fixed all the noise.
Ever since then it had a good idle but choppy under acceleration. I narrowed it down to 3 different cylinders (if you consider that narrowed). My assumption was low FP beat up my already old injectors.
Justin at Power-Struck was helping me with advice and offered a great deal on 8 injectors. I swapped them in and did compression tests while the valve covers were off, but now this thing runs smooth as glass. I forgot how good a properly running 7.3 is.
Just wanted to thank everyone on here and Justin for the help getting this thing straightened out. And the lesson is - Don't just look at idle fuel pressure, check your fuel pressure going down the road.
