This piece of trash plastic tube! First one I have broken but i sure didn't make any money on that job after spending an hour removing and installing the new one.

Yeah this line is a pain in the a$$! I didn't break mine but I had read about it being easy to break so I was beyond careful with it. I think Steve(powerstroked162) is working on a solution to this.

a plastic tube that routes coolant from the front engine cover over to the heater core. its routed right next to/underneath the intake manifold and requires removing many things to get it out

I broke 2 the first cab on head stud job. The 2nd one broke installing it. I used a 6.0 flange and soft hose and ditched that turd. They break just looking at them.

Wow thanks for the heads up, hopefully a stronger line or better solution come for this.

Anyone ever just cut the end mounts/attachments off and use a braided line in the middle or anything?

Did the same thing when installing my egr delete. What I did was cut it off flat, melted a "flare" on the end of it and put heater hose and a hose clamp on it. Been like that for over two years and still going.

This is okay to do on your own personal truck but I couldn't do that being it was a customers truck. Sucks but I got it done without much fighting

Yea I was just throwing it out there for guys that may end up in the same situation I was in. Definitely not a professional repair, but it will get you out of a bind.
