Got the Mad Baby-P installed and running yesterday.
After fixing an intake boot leak and almost through the learning process I can't believe the power and drivability of the Turbo and Eric's XXX Tune.

I need to borrow or buy an EDGE ECT so i can monitor EGT's the Scangauge II boost has hit 30 PSI twice during a little spirited driving.

First impressions is it's quiet, the engine, the turbo the Truck everything works so much better together, in general it feels 1000's of pounds lighter.

It can hit 50 - 60 MPH without ANY effort whatsoever, and maintain it with 10% throttle, literally noting barely any touch of throttle and it's at 70.

Sitting at Outback curbside for 20 minutes in 95 deg heat the ect and eft dropped to 188 189 from 193 194 sitting at stop lights in traffic the truck acts and feels better than it has over the past 12 years I've owned it.

I don't know if it's 500 RWHP or 480 or 420 and really don't care, i'm not sure it could do the 1/4 in 13 flat or 15.1 and don't care to learn, i do know it's not for sale even if offered what i paid for it new in 2005.
:ford:

My tally to Perfection.....
600 155 Warren Stock Nozzle Injectors
700 Stg. 1 Baby-P
400 ARP's
125 XXX Inov. Diesel Tune
150 Sin. ELC & Filter
750 Lbr & Int. Parts
2725.00

The feel of hitting 100 MPH in 7 sec. PRICELESS. :D

Hearing a bunch of good things about MTW turbos. Glad they are working well, and its great to have a good running truck.

63mm/88mm .58 a/r, runs a .90 turbine housing. It's the mad stage 1, stage 2 is 64.7mm/88mm .72a/r, runs a .90 turbine housing. Stage 3 is in testing is 67.8mm/94mm .58a/r and also runs a .90 turbine housing. Stage 4 which is under developement is 70.3mm/94mm .58 a/r, and .90 turbine housing. If all testing goes well then there will be one last stage, stage 5 72mm/94mm. hope that helps out.

Have you guys made any power levels for the different stages. Obviously tuning & injectors will lay a role but for example a stage 3 will Support up to 475 etc etc and what about prices for each.stage. if you would rather pm me that's fine.

There's numbers all over the place. They're saying this turbo may be capable of 500 on stock sticks, but nothing to back it up yet.

This is the third post I've read about this turbo hoping to get some useful information, some solid numbers and I'm left disappointed again. Don't even have EGT readings this time, haven't seen ANY backpressure numbers from the testers, and no track times. I'll keep waiting.

I forget where it was posted at (it has been about 3 weeks and may have been on another site) but the pressure ratios on the Stage 2 were right at 1.2:1. I forget what the max boost was. IIRC it was initially like 35psi but then the ECM started dialing back. As far as track times go, you might be waiting for a while. I will agree that these last couple of threads have really been lacking in real numbers but ALL of the customers that have bought these turbos have been satisfied with them. I have yet to hear of one complaint. So IMO that should count for something too. Just sayin.

Actually the stage 1 hit 473rwhp on stock injectors and the stage 2 hit 485rwhp on stock injectors. Those numbers will be higer next time around. Stage 3 as not been tested yet JJ will be hitting the dyno this sat. with the stage 3 and 300 hybrid injectors, if he gets tuning right it's going to be big numbers. As fars as numbers and track, well you have to understand that about 6 months ago these turbos were just my idea on paper. I'm busy now with orders for stage 1, 2 and developing more turbos. I'm not a big company, so I'm a one band man doing all this. I actually think that I have come a long way in a very short time, think about it a guy(me) gets an idea, does his homework and starts building his own turbos. Then within 4 months gets them on trucks and they hit the hightest rwhp on stock injectors. I'm the guy and it's been a crazy ride so far, hell I have a guy towing with a stage 1 as a direct replacement, of stock turbo and running stock everything in a tow boss, and he had nothing but good things to say about the turbo. Turbo never stumbled, got better gas mileage, and ran great, that on his company hauling buisness, he put the miles on it and tested it hard. I guess i'm trying to say that I'm really trying to get numbers, track times, but just need alittle more time. Thanks

The drive pressure numbers for the stage 2 don't really help those interested in the stage 1 though...

I know the turbo is getting great reviews by those who have them. However, there was turbo's given out to a few guys with the sole purpose of reporting back to let others know some good info about them. It seemed like there were some pretty stringent requirements to get one of them, and now it seems like the guys picked to try them out have almost nothing useful to offer, other than "I love this turbo." That says a lot, but numbers don't lie you know?

yeah yeah yeah. It'd be nice to know more about an unproven product first... maybe I'll just buy one and report myself haha.

We appreciate what you're doing here man. Take your time, you've got a lot on your plate. I don't want anyone to take my posts as a negative vibe, I'm just a guy looking for some numbers and disappointed when I don't see them. I have a feeling there are others who are in the same boat I am in, patiently waiting for info. :blitzed:

I ran the Stage 2 and posted BP numbers. 1.3:1 was my average. And Nate is also correct in stating that initially I would hold 35psi at WOT but then as the ECM relearned, it dialed back to around 26psi. We are still working on the tuning to get the most from the Stage 2. When I'm happy with the tuning I'll hit the dyno again and head to the track. I had a couple threads on a couple different sites with everything from EGT's to BP ratio's to dyno results. I had a several dyno runs at 485rwhp and 968lbs-ft. I'll be running the Stage 1 next and then the new design Adrian is working on and posting results on all these. BTW, FedEx completely trashed Adrians Stage 3 that he sent to JJ at Dozers Diesel so it will not be running at the Charity Dyno Event Saturday.

Sorry to disappoint I just don't have the machinery to record actual hard data. If there is a Dyno around north texas i'll take it there, or a strip and run it, but my butt dyno tells me all I need to know, and i ain't 1 bit disappointed.

So, if you have particular requirements, buy one and perform your own testing, if it doesn't measure up there's a line of guys waiting to buy one.

I'm assuming you bought your own turbo then right? This wasn't one of the free one's passed out for testing?

The whole point of giving the free one's out for testing was for those exact reasons, to record hard data.

Obviously if you purchased this turbo for yourself, you're welcome to do as you please. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters. My comments were more aimed at those who were given the turbos for free. I expected more of them.
