My old 7.3 is driving me nuts.

My daily beater 7.3 is starting to become a thorn in my side. First I'll give the specs. 2001 F250 sclb auto 4x4. ~250k Kms and probably that again idling. It was a company truck and it's very cold here in winter. Mods: 6637 style intake, 4" turbo back, no muffler, Beans 6 pos, BTS trans. Plus little things like boost fooler, intake air heater delete, gauges etc.
It has 110 psi compression on #7, wet or dry. I wasn't driving in the winter because it wouldn't stay going on startup. It would start, run for a minute or so, then slowly lose ICP pressure till it stalled. After a few minutes it could be restarted and would do the same thing. After a few times it would stay going and run fine the rest of the day, except on longer trips, same as now.
With warmer temps start up is fine but still acts up on longer trips.
After 30 miles of so on the highway it begins to lose ICP. First shows up when trying to pass or high throttle input. ICP will drop till pedal is released, then will spike to 3500 or so and will chug a bit, then level out. It gets progressively worse the longer you drive, till it will barely climb hills. Today we had to pull over and shut it off for five minutes or so, then on restart it was fin for about a minute and then started to lose pressure again. That was enough to get it up the last hill, and we made it to our cabin. I changed the IPR and it still does it, ICP sensor has been changed. Changed injector o-rings. No change. It does go through a bit of oil. I have an OBS engine on a stand to put in it, but would like to figure out the issue first, since I have to switch over some parts. My next step is to switch injectors 5 and 7 and retest compression in case it is losing it through the injector. Those are my current thoughts but I'm open to advice. Thanks,
Brad

This is definitely getting worse. Pulled over for the third time on my way up from cabin. I doubt this thing will make it to work tomorrow.

Ok, don 't think the 7.3 is going to make the trip to work tomorrow, so I took it out of the rotation. Changed the air filter on the 6.4 and I'm going to run that one. Got the 7.3 in the garage, got to work the next 2 days 8-8 then watch my boy, so probably won't look at it till Wednesday.

Well so much for that theory. Swapped injectors 5 and 7, and compression didn't change at all. Definitely bad cylinder there. Does not explain my HPO issue though. Stumped. On the plus side, for snowing all day, there is not much on the ground. Lol.

More then likely a bad injector. Pull the valve covers, crank and watch the spill spouts. None should leak until the truck starts to fire the injectors.

Tried this except with everything unplugged. Cranked and cranked, while watching the right bank. No oil out of spill ports. Didn't fuss with other side. Put the truck back to running so I could move it out of the garage and get set up to pull the engine.

So it could have been on the left side. It takes one injector to kill HPO Pressure...

Yes. I had the right side off because of the compression issue with #7. Didn't have time to check the other side. Maybe before I pull it, I'll have a look. Pretty sure I'm going to get some new injectors for the other engine though.
