I was driving in my new 2008 6.4, and it was over boosting bad. Around 25-30psi at 50mph. So I hit it down a little and pegged out the boost at 40, and I heard a loud pop. Popped the hood and the CAC tube blew off. No big deal. Oil everywhere though from the tube? Is that normal? Was that causing my whole issue? What to check? Thanks, I'm on the side of the road and need help ASAP

the overboost could be caused by a bad or plugged ebp sensor located on the drivers side upipe.

the oil in the tube is from the turbo bearings letting oil by. it means the turbos are getting worn out. pull off your air intake and check shaft play.

I wouldn't raise the alarm on the oil in the hot side pipe just yet. Your CCV dumps into the intake before the turbos and there will be a build up over time. If you are worried about the turbo seals going, check the down pipe at the ball socket just before the cat.

CCV=Crank case vent. Its the small 1" tube that goes from the oil catch can (on the passenger side valve cover) to the air filter/intake tube. Down pipe=The large pipe at the back of the turbo that runs down the passenger side fire wall. There is a ball and socket joint at the bottom of the down pipe and just before the large cat/DPF portion of the exhaust pipe.

when my atmo turbo bearings went, nothing went down the downpipe-it filled the intercooler.

Better. But for now, just put that tube on so at least I get some boost, and figure the rest out when its not -15?? Is the EBP sensor on the driver or passenger side of the block, and the tube they are talking, its that little skinny tube attached to it I'm guessing? So I can clean those

Circled in blue is the CCV hose

You can either add some rubber hose and dump to ground and get a fancy kit like I did from Maryland Performance Diesel to add some looks

This is how my pipe looked when I took it off turbos were fine.
