hey guys so I decided when I get home with the new colors of the truck that I want to clean up my headlights and black out the reflector and possibly harleyize my headlights. does anyone have a how-to or can give me tops on splitting my headlights apart? I really want to do this so it looks way better.

Thanks so much,

Chad

Preheat to 250 turn the oven off and let them sit for 10 full min use screw drivers to pry the lenses from the light.

Set aside some time to get it done. Don't rush. When you think you're prying too hard... Pry harder and they'll come apart. I used a couple screw drivers and started In a corner and moved all the way around.

i didnt like the heat gun, i felt like it got the surface too hot and the glue not hot enough, so i stopped using it, might give it a try tho if some have good luck.

Keep us posted i hope you do them red...

I used the oven at 250 for 8 minutes to do my 08 tail lights. One at a time and did it pretty easy. Might try heat gun on the headlights.

I'm doing them in black, only the reflectors though. the truck is currently at the paint shop being painted HOK jet black with blue pearl clear right now. than the interior is being switched over to black leather and brushed aluminum accents and 2% window tint.....so I want to put black reflectors up front and smoked cab lights on top to match.

How did this project go? I know everyone has been doing them and having great results. It seems like its a pretty simple task to tackle. I been nervos on messing mine up, but after seeing so many people doing it themselves it gives me courage to do my own. What concerns me is the problem where some are having to reshape the light before putting back together.
