Ok some idiot was messing around my with truck (aka me) in the race tune. Well my clutch has decided it doesn't wanna hold any more it's about 2 years old. So now I need to figure out clutche I should go with. Ideas would be great! Also mods in my sig!
Thanks Bryan!

What are your plans to use it for. If your towing as well as wanting to play I would go with a Dual Disk as well. Valair has a nice sintered iron that I know a couple or pullers run and have a look of hooks on. Rubber duck run ones in his DD tow pig IIRC.

I drove a Ceramic/Kevlar in a dodge of my buddies and it's on or off. Not the best tow clutch but it holds tight when you launch.

I'm looking into the future is part of it I would like to go up to 250/200s at some point and I'm sure I'll need a dual disk for them!

Valair dd cermaic here. I've had the dd sintered iron clutch and if your into stop light to stop light racing speed shifting you'll brake input shafts don't go that route.

How do you like the ceramic DD. the Kevlar ceramic single I drove was grabby for sure. Is the straight ceramic as bad or does it have some slip?

I've run every dual disk, and single disk that Valair offers. And I can attest that the sintered iron, and ceramic dual disks will snap input shafts if you try to speed shift. At the moment, I am running a sprung hub organic dual disk in my daily driver. It's smooth as hell, and love it for pulling and general horsing around. But it doesn't like being slipped at all. If I ride the clutch to keep the rpms up launching the truck, it's clutch smell city. LOL

The sintered iron dual disk in my puller, is bad ass as well. But I wouldn't try to back a trailer up with one. LOL

The ceramic dual disk was the perfect dual disk for part time pulling and racing in my book. It held everything I could throw at it. And, I raced people quite a few times before it actually shelled an input shaft. But I believe it did that because my syncros are crap, especially in 4th gear.

The best all around abusable single disk had to be the ceramic. I couldn't get it to slip, but I could speed shift the crap out of it. Once I was done with it, I gave it to one of my guys who's truck is stronger than mine, and he's been beating the crap out of it for a few years, and it's still going strong.

My recommendation to you is to call up there and talk to Dan, or Gary. Both great guys to talk to. Dan is Valair VP, and Gary is his perfomance clutch manager. They know their clutches. Tell them what you want to do with the truck, and be honest. LOL They will set you up, or recommend the perfect clutch for you. If you think you want to go with a Valair, holler at me on a pm, and I can help you get a better price than they advertise.
