Ok here's my problem, have a 01 XLT with power mirrors. That's it, no heat, no markers, no turn signals. Now Aa1auto only sells power mirrors with all of those. That being said, do I NEED to have power to ALL of those in order for my power mirrors to work? I do not care/need heated mirrors. Can't find this exactly anywhere and have PM'd Tony with no response.

I am planning to do this mod and from what all I have read, no, you do not need to power the heat circuit in order for the rest to work.

I have the same mirrors on my 2000 as you and I am only planning to wire in the turn signal and marker light when I buy the same mirrors.

I had a 2011 F250 for a short while and those mirrors were the best mirror I ever had. You will love them.

Good luck!

You have to manually wire them if you want them. I installed a switch in the dash for heat, it feeds (key on) from the fuse box. The Running lights/blinkers you have to run from the main harness under the dash....you'll need wiring diagrams to find the right color combo. I just wanted heat, as it makes plowing much easier, lol

Mine are just plugged in right now using the conversion plug that 1a includes. The glass functions.are all useable. If thats all you want, plug them in, you're good!

Did you have to ask for this conversion plug? Or is it included?

Its included when you're ordering 03 upgrade mirrors(mines a 2000).

I didnt ask for it either. Its good to get you going quick but if you are anal like myself and want the thing to look "just right" you'd be better served to get two molex or deuche connectors and remove the wires from the harness in your door and then run ALL the wires to a new harness. The truck and mirror side!

Or you can search your nuts off and repin the 7pin side of the adapter harness and plug it all in.

Thanks! Ordered yesterday, can't wait to have functioning mirrors again!

Well just installed these... Seem pretty stout. Not sure about the PTM cover, pops on and off pretty easy. And not sure what the pigtail is for? The mirrors have exact plug that's in my 01.

Pigtail is for a few years where the connectors were different. Not sure, but I think it was just 03-04 (my 05 didn't need the pigtail either).

I thought my PTM caps were a little loose also and used a little Locktite Flexible Adhesive (for plastic, fabric, and some other stuff) to secure them a bit better. I let them set for a week and checked to see if I could get them off. No issues at all. That adhesive is like industrial strength rubber cement.
