I have 5/8 line running from the tank to pump so i was not going to have the filter base be a restriction. And i did not want to go through all the trouble of splitting them up. But this could be considered a plus because 1/2npt fittings are much cheaper. The Baldwin base uses 7/8-14 in and out. And the Baldwin base was easier to mount in my case. I have since made a bracket to hold the CAT filter under the hood. And im very happy with how it turned out. Filter changes will be easy and not too messy and it is not in the way to work on anything. [/QUOTE]
