Hey guys.. Before I order the injectors I need opinions on which ones. Let me explain what I want out of my truck. It is not and never will be a race truck. Its just my everyday driver travel truck.
I'm trying to not buy a high dollar fuel system. I just want a powerful truck that is efficient to pull up big hills with the big lift I have and 35's. I eventually may go with 37's which adds more resistant rolling weight. As it sits now with bone stock motor other than lusted moods and after the lift.. It takes 13-15lbs of boost just to maintain highway speeds and that kills my fuel mileage from 18 down to about 11. Before it only took the normal 8-10psi to keep at highway speeds
I talked to one guy and he said stick an 03 turbo on and 155's and it would be a fun truck. What's the power out of this combo if anyone knows? If I step up to a KC stage 2 and 175/30 injectors.. Can I keep the stock fuel system other than the regulated return? What's rufly this power combo?
I have been trying to do my own research but I have just read to damn much and it gave me a headache and now I'm lost and forgot what was what. In looking for the best bang for the buck combo.
Would like to from ones with your personal experience not what you have read. THANKS!

My brother has a 330k mile stock fuel system truck with 175 30s. We studded and del last year, we put a new stock hpop in it a few months ago, original was tired. It's a fun truck even with the stock turbo, tows really well too.

I really liked my 190/30s from Rykan at holders, with Charlies KC Stage 2. It had a ton of power, i know you aint lookin for a race truck, but power is addictive LOL, and the power was very useable. I had idp pull a bunch of fuel on a street tune for a daily that ran really clean, and id guess somewhere between 450-500 horse or so. All out race tune on water/meth put down 615, for a reference.

One reason I am replacing my new reman turbo is the seal has went out (30k miles but still sees 28-30psi at times)and blowing oil through the inner cooler. But on that note.. I was told that with kc stage2 turbo and 175/30's would be a HUGE power difference between the stock 03 turbo and 155's?...and still be 100 percent reliable. . I need to get the parts ordered within 2 weeks.

175/30s even 190/30s are great daily driving injectors, and it would be hard to find a better pairing for those than the KC Stage 2. (I'm running a modified DIY kit of his myself)

If you find pressure dropping off a bit in WOT after the install, a 6.7L Powerstroke fuel pump should be enough to get it back where it needs to be without the expense of a more complicated fuel system.

A set of taller gears would go a long way helping you spool up with those big tires and giant lift.

I sit around 4-5 psi @70mph on 35's.

13-15psi of boost cruising on flat ground is too much IMO. I would check to make sure nothing is wrong... like a sticking caliper.

Bigger tires is going to make everything worse. Higher EGTs, Lag, Smoke, etc. Gears will help but wont eliminate the problem.

IMO any injector larger than stock needs a fuel upgrade to take full advantage of it. Some guys get luck, but some don't even monitor fuel PSI. For a daily driver with a few quick jabs of the throttle you will have not problems. I ran 205/30 on a stock fuel system for about 6 months. But if you hold WOT for longer than 4-5 seconds then fuel pressure will start to drop like a rock and you risk damaging your injectors.

Now that you mention it Charlie.. I just had all 4 rotors and all the brakes done.. Hmmm.. I need to check that out! I had 35's before and the boost was normal..8-10 cruising. I just figured it was the lift that was causing more wind resistant therefore causing the boost to increase.

That's where I was also. . maybe a little more until all 4 rotors were replaced and brake pads and the lift was done at the same time. My truck has 373's . I just figured the big lift caused more wind resistance. . it may be the calipers are sticking but I don't smell the brakes getting hot or anything..
