Wife's truck is down with the stock 200,000 mile 15* degree pump having the back plate popped out. Shut down in the middle of the road, got towed home for the first time since we got it in 03. Except for me being 1,200 miles a way at the moment, it is the perfect forced upgrade opportunity! In fact I started to tell her I could probably get the pump back together and she replied hell no, get a new one....don't they make a better one? So you heard her folks......
Mods on the truck are AC injectors, basically 160cc stock nozzles. Intake, exhaust, WW2, 1.0 housing. Future mods include IC, E fuel, and a T4 set up with BASB Turbo. Maaybe smallish injectors with 30 or 80% nozzles.
I'm not after any certain HP on this truck, or any bragging rights.

This truck is a daily driver, trailer tow (with horses), towing over mountain passes, working truck. The focus is on effecient, reliable, low smoke good fuel mileage, fun but practical truck.

So I need to pick a HPOP based on the above, ship it home and fly home for a couple of days and get it back together. Not much room to forget anything. It is a late 96 (past the serial # break for HPOP changes, wierd IPR's etc)
Plan to put a new IPR and HPO hoses as well.

so I've been thinking about a new HPOP on this truck for a while, but never really had time to sort through all the endless arguments on the subject.
The cost is an object but relaibility and performance come first. Here are my thoughts on the various choices.

New Bosch 17* is an upgrade over the stock 15*, good reliability, but I could have more! Price is good.

SRP1 I absolutely love the increased displacement. The idea of faster ramp up of ICP in a 5 spd truck is great. There is so much negative posted on this pump it is hard to pick it. It would likely be fince since we don't beat the truck.
If the Billet Stealth was available I would get one in a heartbeat.

T500 My house is actually close to Joey and I have talked to him a few times. Seen posts where he has been very solid and helpful Seems like a solid pump with few problems. Not sure on the performance compared to the others.

Adrenalin is probably my first choice simply because Bob Riley has a spotless reputation and you hear of very few problems.

Honey Badger seems good, not much traffic on any problems.

What pump would you order tomorrow?

Best deal on HPOP hoses and IPR?

Id buy a 17° bosch and forget about it. It'll run a small a code injector if you do it. Reliability is key for a guy who has to fly home to repair.

T500 is good also.

I love my t500, and one in cousins truck too. Mine maintains (will ramp quick, but not sure what to compare it to) 3000-3100 psi at about 32-35% duty cycle

The t500 works well in my setup, which appears to be what your planning for

Yep, I've always planned something similar to your set up. Looks like they might be near twins in the end except the CC. You (and Billy) have been my inspiration lately to get back after finishing the truck. Heck, I forgot I even to the Swamps IDM on there until I was reading your sig.

Is that CONOFE a pain to back a trailer with? My CONO died due to a poorly machined flywheel so I put a Valair in. Liked the CONO better.

I had a T500 on my 96 and it worked great with my 225/100's didn't miss a beat! If Joey is close, just take it to him. He will fix you up and he is a one man show so quality control is super. He could have it done in a day if you are in driving distance to him.

Backing a trailer... At first it was a pain, but after you get used to its not that bad, if its just my 16ft tandom with something I usually keep in 2w high, if it's our 30ft TT I just use 4low, and it's absolutely fine. Again, just took dome getting used to...

On another note, you might wanna consider a bigger sb clutch with your future injector plans. With about 25,000 miles on mine, without a load, mine will slip in any of the tunes above 80tow if you really get on it, and with a load it will slip a little if ya get on it in 80 tow. I don't know how much horsepower and torque I'm making with my combo (seems to be a lot of conflicting numbers) but the 450hp clutch I've got will definitely slip. I'm planning on swapping up to the south bend dual disk street clutch, which I think is rated for 650hp and 1100 lb/ft of torque. I just hope its not too aggressive for daily use

Nice Idea, but for one it is dead (pump guts came out) and 2 nobody else ever works on my stuff. I might make an exception for Joey since he really knows what he's doing. I have to fly home anyway just pushing the timing up a bit. She's driving the 91 for now.

Who has T500's in stock? Joey is out for the moment.

Where to get the best deal on:

IPR

HPOP hoses (stock or dyno proven?)

Thank for all the posts folks! Keep em coming, this is not fun when I'm busy at work and not home either.

The T-500 works well. I've ran several, but if Joey is out of town why not get a honeybadger jr? I'm guessing they are in stock and could probably overnight one to you. Also, dynoproven's hpop lines are very nice pieces and some of the only "aftermarket" ones I know of that are also readily available.

I have also ran several HBjr pumps with no issues and oil supply is second to none.

I have a brand new Honey Badger Jr. sitting here. It isn't doing me any good with no injectors in the truck.
If you are in a pinch I can have it shipped to you 2-day tomorrow morning.
PM me your phone number if you are interested.

Wow. the generosity and care of the memers on here is amazing! That is an awesome offer and one I could end up taking you up on if I don't get one lined up soon from a vendor. I'll need one in hand next weekend.
