As the title suggests, I am new here, just picked up a 2000 F250 7.3 RCLB 6speed XL work truck for a daily driver/hauler. For the most part I am a Chevy guy, but I am generally not biased, except when it comes to my longterm projects. I have owned Chevy, Ford, and Dodge, diesels and gas, whatever gets me around. This is my first Powerstroke, although I have done lots of work in the past on several 7.3s and 6.0s my brother owned.

So to get started, here is my new truck.
Specs are 2000 F250 RCLB 7.3 6speed, basic XL work truck, 173k mi.
Not looking to make it fast by any means, just a decent daily driver, with some towing on the weekends.

When I first got it, still in WT mode.

Well, that's it. I'm just here to learn a little more about my new beater and document the changes.

While I'm here, I'll go ahead and picture whore with current and past projects

I'll start out with the ride this one replaced. My old trusty daily driver Mazda B2200. It got me around, was easy to work on, got decent mileage, but just had no power.
Lowered for a while and worked like a dog, had helper bags in the rear

Leveled when I sold it

My 78 K30, I bought this from my fire department after we retired it in 2008 for a new Duramax, this was my tow rig, but overdrive and AC will sure be nice in the F250 now.

My 67 C10 project, my great grandfather bought this new in 1967, I replaced the inline 6 with a 5.3 LS out of a 2002 Silverado, but now it is torn apart for a full restoration

Our 69 K5 Blazer, also torn apart for a full restoration

Now then, a few of my old vehicles
My 2001 2500HD 8" Fabtech, ORD shackle flip and zero rate, 5.13 gears, 38x15.5x20 Nittos, built this over 7 years, it was my pride and joy but recently sold it for a down payment on a house

My 2003 2wd CCLB Duramax I drove during college, loved this truck, but it was just too big and long to not have 4wd

I've had a few others, but those were my favorites. I'm sure I'll get hate for the GMs on a Ford site, but oh well :evil

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I love the 78 dually. Ive owned all brands just prefer ford but that is a sharp chevy dually. Any specs on it. Tires, wheels, lift, and engine.
Thanks, it was my fire dept's brush truck for as long as I can remember, bought it when we retired it. It's just a plane jane, 350 small block, SM465, NP205, D60 front D70 rear, 4.11 gears, 4" Tuff Country springs up front with ORD greasable and extended shackles, Zone Offroad sway bar links and shocks, stock rear suspension, some old 16" Ultra wheels I found on craigslist, and 315/75R16 Kumho KL71 Mud Terrains, 1.5" wheel spacers up front and 2.5" wheel spacers between the duals, 20% tint, a little thrown together audio inside. I think that's about it lol.

The 350 is bone stock, but with only 80k original miles and it doesn't smoke a bit, I can't bear to get rid of it just yet. It's not quick, but with the gearing it will pull a house, it holds 70mph just fine on the freeway pulling a trailer and gets about 10-11mpg hauling cars, so I can't complain. I have too many projects going on right now to do anything about it, (mainly a house), but it will be getting something a little more powerful in a few years. It's crossed my mind to build the small block, a big block, or even a cummins swap (I have a 96 2500 12v with NV4500 sitting on the farm for a donor), but I've pretty much settled on a mild cam in a LQ4 6.0. To me there's nothing like a cammed LS screaming in a big truck like this, and it would still be very streetable, just fine with the RPMs of not having OD. The cummins would work, but even with the NV4500, highway speeds would be pushing it, not to mention the almost $1k adapter to mate to the NP205, and all of the sound deadening I would have to do to make it tolerable, my wife drives this truck, she couldn't deal with that noise.

Just a few more pics of it

The birthday present my wife got me (and the truck), the truck officially turned 35 this year, and therefore is classified as a Classic Vehicle and I can run year of manufacture plates. She found me original 1978 NC Farm Truck plates, it's just a shame 1978 used green numbers, 77 and 79 were both red.
:datass:

Welcome! Those 08 wheels look amazing on that truck.
Thanks! They'd look a lot better if it wasn't too cold to wash it :lame:
