G'day all.

Just joined in the hope of earning some knowledge from everyone. I want to change my 2008 F550 from the 5R110W Auto to a S6-650 Manual.

Hope someone out there can point me in the direction of someone who has done this. I have everything worked out, the only problem left to solve is how to get the engine to run after the swap. I don't know if it will throw a fit because of no Auto, or just start and run happy?

to start, i wold think you would need the pcm out of a manual truck. it won't run with the auto trans harness disconnected.

start a thread in the tech section and you may get some more viewers...

I know on a 6.0 the tuner can just write a manual tune and flash it to an auto pcm. That's how we do 4R swaps. Guys who have done 4Runner swaps in 6.4s would know

Are you having problems with the 5r?

I ask because it's the superior transmission between on and the ZF6manual.

With that said, the PCM will need to be reprogrammed with a manual calibration. Which is accomplished ready enough
