Hey all, my name's Josh and I'm a auto/diesel mechanic by hobby/trade. I'm former Army and I just acquired my 2nd Powerstroke, an early 99 F250 4x4 CCSB Lariat. Before that I had a 96 F250/F350 hybrid (lol) 4x4 with 6" of lift, 7.3/5-speed and a few mods. This one is starting stock and I plan on playing with it some. I had a Ram with a Cummins (also a 99) and while its a great engine, stock for stock the Powerstroke blows it away. I like them both. I was sold on my Super Duty when I pulled with it the first time...see, right now it has an APPS only showing 75% throttle when floored and causing erratic TCC behavior and a seized fan clutch...and still out pulls my old Dodge...the Dodge had a 5-speed and 60k less miles. Anyhow, I hope to get to know y'all and share as my truck gets better and better.

Here's my old F350 (started as a 250, front axle grenaded, HP D60 swapped in from 97 F350...)

Here's my old Ram...(I still have the stacks, they'll probably end up on this one)

Here's where I began with this truck...after a much needed bath

And here's where I'm at today...most I've done is cleanup/basic maintenance (new HPOP/Fuel Bowl o-rings, oil change, injector buzz test, fixing a leaking tranny cooler line, etc)

Welcome! When I saw the thread, I figured down Mobile or Dothan way for South Alabama. Looked up Wetumpka, I was way off! lol I've been looking at a few offroad parks in northern and mid-Alabama to try out this year.

What do you have in mind for the truck once you finish the clean up/maintenance?

i'm actually from Mobile! i was raised in Evergreen and ended up in Wetumpka after i got out of the Army. my plans for the truck are still coming together, but i'm thinking a better bedliner for the lower 1/3, installing my stacks (already have 'em), about 4" of lift with around a 35" tire, probably a regear to 4.10's or 4.30's later (to help with the larger tires), gauges, a tuner, bigger injectors (still looking at all the different ones, had Swamp Donkey's on my OBS), bigger turbo, built trans or a manual swap, winch, replacement front and rear bumpers, small sound system which will most likely have a DVD player for my kids, not sure what else right now.

Sounds like you've definitely got an idea of where you want to go with it. The re-gear will definitely wake it back up some after going with the bigger tire. What sounds system with DVD player are you looking at? I'm totally out of my element in that area, but I've been thinking about doing an upgrade in one of the trucks... I have the DVD players that hang on the back of the headrest for the kids right now. I only pull them out on loooong trips, but we might use it more if it were a more convenient option.

Welcome, that is an awesome looking OBS. Sounds like you have a good list of mods going into your 99.
