New Rotella CK4 Yes or No?

My truck is d-leted with 143K and has been running Rotella 5W40 since about 10K. I change the oil and filter every 5K on the dot. I'll be due for another oil change soon, and I'm a little skeptical of the new CK4 Rotella. There are just too many mixed opinions on the new oils for me not to wonder if there's something better.

I would love to use LE 5W40, but I'd have to run it at 10K intervals in order for it to be cost effective. It's not that I doubt the LE product, but I'd just be uncomfortable running 10K intervals on a truck that's been serviced at 5K its entire life.

So, my question is, what's the word on the new oils? Is it okay to just switch from the old Rotella to the new stuff, or is there something better out there? With as much as I drive, my goal is to get 300K out of this truck, so I don't want to cut any corners. Any input would be great... Thanks!

I know, I know... Jim is awesome. I've been running LE fuel additive since the day we could buy it by the pint. I really want to stick with a 5W40 oil, but I don't want to run it for extended intervals. If anyone has data to prove LE (or any other oil) is in better shape at 10K than Rotalla would be at 5K, I'm all ears. I just want to go with what whatever is best for long-term reliability, but I don't want to spend a fortune on oil to dump it at 5K.

I already talked to Jim about this as well. CK4 is backwards compatible to CJ4 so it meets or exceeds all the CJ4 requirements. You could do 10k intervals with LE just pick up some test kits from Jim so he can tell you if you're good or not. I'm sure you will pass if using LE.

Are you running LE in your truck?

If so, what interval do you change the oil and filter at?

No. I run Schaeffers Supreme 9000 (5W-40 CJ4). Jims own words were its the only oil that even comes close to LE and he had no problem with me running it. Schaeffers is in the process of phasing it out for their new CK4 oil. I change my oil every 5K no matter what just how I am.

CK 4 issues aren't really anything to be worried about if you stick to good maintenance practices. ford got kicked in then it's for that TSB. And that video

My first 10k oil analysis on LE 8854 was better than my 5k T6 analysis. I'll have my second 10k in about 2000 miles. Both LE 8854 5k analysis were great. 10k bothers my OCD too, but I've managed thus far. LOL.

Yes, a company that has about 2500 super duty's told ford if they void the warranty because of CK4 they will stop buying trucks. They buy about 500 a year. They just don't want two different oils on hand. Ford had to back off. If I owned a super Duty and didn't know oils like I do, I'd just buy a synthetic and change it more often to keep warranty and my feelings in check.

OP talk to jim about the new oil le came out with same great oil just does not have the add packs for extended change intervals, and cheaper so you can still do your 5000 intervals
