Well I finally pulled the trigger on a nice OBS Crew Cab I've been wanting. It has 85,000 miles. I'm going to use it to tow the puller around. It should be a good truck for me.

Nice lookin truck, how did you find one with such low miles

Well a buddy mine found it about two years ago near Sunbury, PA and I went down when he bought it. About 3 months later he sold it to his dad to use for their business. He used it for a summer and it has been sitting since October with no insurance on it because he has about 8 other trucks he uses before he'd need to use this one....literally LOL

Damn that thing is clean! If you don't mind, how much did you give for it? I can't recall the last time I've seen one in that good of shape!

I gave $13,500 for it, which I think is fair. That is what it was sold to him for and he just put all new upper and lower ball joints on, new tie rod ends, had it aligned, and bought two new tires for it. I know he could have put it on ebay and sold it for $15,000 easy.

very nice! what size tires are those ? 285's ?

Yes sir! 285/75/16....Somehow they rub the front bumper occasionally when I turn so I'm not sure if I want to go to a 305 or not when the time comes. It would be nice if they were 305 so I could put them on my axle when I get the Dana 80

Somewhere down in Texas..
Nice find! I have to ask though, bc I'm noticing a trend on OBS and SD trucks. What is it with Pennsylvania and visors on pickups?? I'm assuming it's the same thing as Maryland, and chrome door handles, and fender trim? Or, Texas and grille guards?

I honestly can't answer that! Maybe it's in the water or something lol but fwiw if it wasn't on there already I doubt I would've put one on. Since it's on there I probably won't take it off though for fear of rust.

personaly I think 285's are the perfict size on obs trucks shim the bumper out about an inch and you shouldn't have any rubbing issues

I live in Rhode Island/ Connecticut and almost every obs truck you see up here has a visor. I personally love the way they look and i have one on all 3 of my trucks and 6 of my friends that have obs's also have them.

There were regional accessories and models offered when the trucks were new. Some dealers also offered non Ford accessories. Chrome plated door handles, grille, bumpers, body and wheel opening moldings and brushed aluminum tailgate panel came as part of the XLT option on OBS trucks in some model years. Some dealers also offered the Centurion packages on obs trucks which could include leather seats, wood interior trim including upper and lower consoles with a TV, VCR, Cb radio and heated or chilled cup holders, a CD changer, power rear window, body graphics and moldings (including the visor), stainless lighted running boards, lighted grille guards etc., depending on the package.

Grille guards are especially popular where deer are feeding on roadside grass at night!

Very nice find PSDEng.
