Nitto 420s on platinum rims?

I picked up some platinum rims this weekend and was wondering if I could run Nitto 420s on them? I'm not worried about the load range difference (I can slap my 18s back on if I haul enough weight to be too much for the 420s) and know that I will have to find someone to install them because of liability issues with that tire going on an 8lug. The tires I'm running now are 285/65/18 and the Nittos are 305/50/20.
My truck is 2WD so it sits low to begin with but I have a 2" leveling kit in the front. I'm just not wanting it to look goofy.. I can't decide if I should just slap some A/T tires on them and wait to run the 420s on 20x10s when I eventually get them or if I should try it? If anyone has pictures of 420s on the platinum rims that would be great.

IMHO that wheel is too way too narrow for a 305 tire. IIRC it's only 8" wide. Minimum is 8.5" and optimum is 9.5"

I'll take the advice. Guess I'll just be buying some a/t tires and be waiting to run the 420s on a wider rim. Appreciate the feedback

While not perfect. A ton of people run the 305 420s on the factory 20s. Including myself for a short time. Hands down the best driving, smoothest tire I had on my truck. The load rating freaked me out too much.

Do you have any pictures of your truck with the 420s on?

Well that makes me feel pretty good. I want to try it out just because of the price point and because I've always wanted to run 420s on my truck. I can't seem to find the weight rating for them though? XL? But what is the max weight that tire can handle?

That's the max weight the tires can handle?? I don't understand that stuff I guess.. The heaviest thing I will haul anytime soon would be a pop up trailer and a 22 foot car hauler that will be a little over 10K loaded(I hardly ever have to haul this trailer)

I would not tow anything with these tires. There barely rated to hold the weight of the truck. I might have a picture somewhere. I bought a set of factory 20" wheels and they came with 420s on them so I said what the hell and put them on.

I'm probably just going to get the Nitto G2s and wait to run the 420s when I get aftermarket rims.. If I even decide to do that. I like having a kind of sleeper looking truck..

Was going to say, a ton of 6.4 guys have run them on stock 20s which are 8' wide. I've put a ton of pellets in the back of my truck a couple times without issues.

It's what got me thinking. And I looked it up and couldn't find any 6.7 pictures or info for 6.7s but found only one picture of a 6.4 with 420s on the stock 20s. And that's what made me start the thread.

They're not platinum rims but here was my old 6.7 lowered 2 inches on 420's.

It would look fairly similar. Yours might be a tad lower but when I had mine I wished I could have got it lower.
