Pulled the motor out and did a T500 hpop, 180/100 injectors and made my own fuel system using a Aeromotive regulator and superduty lift pump. im only seeing 15 psi pressure at the regulator regardless of how much i crank it in. That shouldnt be the start issue but maybe. My main concern is the oil resivior level. After 15 seconds of cranking it is draining the resivor almost half and does so continuously until i noticed the oil level coming up meaning everything is draining back to the pan. My tach is moving but my oil pressure gauge isnt when cranking. I know i need a scanner to see what my cranking pressures are but is there anything over looking? i think the check valves are hanging open put im not sure. There is a new ipr in the truck too. Any input would be greatly appreciated thank you.

How long have you tried to crank the engine? It should take about 4-5 10 second crank cycles (with 5 minute starter cooldown) with the glow plugs removed to be then able to start the engine after installing the glowplugs. It will crank a lot faster with the glowplugs removed and doesn't kill the batteries. Leaving the glowplugs in results in a dead battery and slow cranking.

You have to purge out a lot of air out of the HPO system before it will start.

15 psi fuel presure is quite low. Please explain what your fuel circuit is.

The pump is a far better pusher than a puller... If the system is all new and the fuel line lost its prime, you'll struggle to get fuel up to the motor. When I redid my whole system, I disconnected the line at the regulator and pulled a vacuum on the line to pull the fuel to the regulator. The pump went right to pressure then.

If you've been cranking for awhile and already got some of the air out of the oil rail, it should fire.

why even try to start it on 15psi of fuel pressure? Fix that issue before you continue. Though it may have the ability to start on 15psi, it is unlikely with air in the HPO system AND only 15psi that it will start.

You will need to crank in 20 second intervals (granted your batteries are in good health) and probably do that 4-5 times with all those new parts and having the motor out.

Don't pay attention to the oil resevoir or your LPO gauge until you do that. Neither of them will make any "sense" until it has fired the first time.

i fixed my fuel problem today now have 60 psi at the regulator like it should. I also scanned it and got some codes regarding a bad idm and bad passenger side UVHC. After putting in a good idm and finding a bad plug on #5 and #7 i put a new harness (and ohm tested the harness) too. Tried to start the truck again and nothing..ive cranked the crap out of this thing and pulled the icp out to verify the oil rails were full and they were. Truck isnt even trying to start..no smoke no cough nothing. tach is moving and all 8 injectors buzz tested good too. Im getting more and more stumped as i go along. ive done several HPOPs and injectors before with no issues. I even primed the motor with the glow plugs out after i pull the injectors in.

found the problem today..ipr lead plug was bad inside the plug..the wire pulled out but the grommet held the wire in still so it looked fine but put a meter on it and nothing.
