Last night we got our first freezing temps (Texas) I get up this morning around 8 or so to go start the truck (about 38 to 40 degrees now) and turn the key and let it do its cycle and did this about three times. I then go to start it and it wouldnt start. When I tried to start it it would crank but would not start no matter what I did. I figured I let it sit for a while and come back. I go a work on a boat for about 2hrs and come back. I let the injection put do its thing and tried turning it on again... Nothing. It did the same thing as before. It would crank and clunk but would not start. I tried again for about 5 times and had the same thing happen again. Im thinking it could be flooded (i know right) so I press the peddle and do the same procedure.... Nothing. I then decided to charge the batteries since it lost some charge trying to crank. Once charged again I press the peddle and try to start again. This time it started but would only stay on if i gave it throttle. I kept on the throttle (loud as hell and smoke everywhere) and it finally would stay on on its own. I let it warm and drove 20 miles back to my house. At idle the ficm would read out 48 to 48.5 volts but the faster I went the lower it would go and the more erratic it would get. Cruising 65 it would bounce from 28 to 35. After some researching it came down to about three things Glow Plugs FICM Crank Shaft Position Sensor Any other things it could be and which are more likely? Thank you!
