I am hoping to pick some ones brain I pulled my truck out of storage about 3 weeks ago and put a total of 20 miles on the truck since then. I used the truck yesterday and everything was fine with it. I went to use it today and I have nothing. All the dash lights, head lights, turn, etc. but no start. I tried cost starting and nothing jumped starter it spins but no start. I traced wirs from ignition and clutch pedal to the fuse box under the hood and over to the pcm (wire25) all have 12 volts. I cant find power anywere else and my local Ford hasnt seen hardly any 6.4s so they were no good. Any one got a couple pointers I can try to get this thing going?

I wouldnt turn over at all I cleared codes several times and nothing. I started changing fuses and pulled on fuse out and it started but I am not trusting it yet. it had a ECM/PCM out of time performance code, a fuel pump circuit low, a/c relay and fuel cooler pump circuit low. I got all the codes to go away after working with the fuses but I am waiting to see what tomorrow brings when I go to start it.

Try switching the OTIS diode and the A/C clutch diode in the battery junction block.

Sounds like your TCM or PCM may be corrupted.

Here is a procedure posted by H&S that may help.

"Try and read DTCs with your tuner. If you can communicate with the PCM, then the TCM is likely the culprit.

You can also test for functionality of the PCM by:

Turn key to RUN
Find the Brown wire with light green tracer behind the passenger battery
Unplug the black connection on that wire, connect the male side of that connection to +12V

The truck will crank, and should fire if the PCM is ok.

I have seen a couple of TCMs go down lately, it seems they are quite volatile to software corruption. The nice thing about them is that they don't require any vehicle setup to replace them. Simply find a new or used TCM and toss it on your truck. But, depending on how your tuning device works, you may need to get some new tunes written.

If the truck cranks but does not start, then the PCM will need to be recovered. I have yet to see a fully failed PCM that we couldn't recover. I have had to ship a few to our shop for some "custom" recovery work, but we have always been able to get them to talk again."

I dont have a tcm mine is a manual trany

I also found this on looking around the other night and it would crank but no fire. If I leav the factory fuel pump fuse out of the equation the truck will run (my airdog ir wired on a key switch power so i have fuel supply going to the engine)

What is the ohms that I should see at the 3rd egt sensor?

If your factory fuel pump is not running it may be due to the inertia fuel shut off switch located on the passenger side of the dash behind the small panel.

Also may be due to bad or corrupted PCM.

A bad egt3 sensor should set a code. In cases I've seen the bypass (as described by the H&S procedure) will start the truck even if the egt3 sensor is bad.

Why don't you post exactly what tune and DPF/delete configuration you are running. Should help to get better info to you.

I am running Spartans dpf/egr delete tune 150 horse. I tried resetting the switch you mensioned and it didnt fase anything. I havent had a chance to look into it the past few days, I got it to run but it sits for a couple days and I have to rset my stereo when I get in the truck. I pulled the factory lift pump fuse and that allowed it to start so I am not sure what is wrong with this thing.

ok I got a phone call from the ford dealer ship and they think the pcm is going bad and 835 just for the computer. I dont understand why I had to pull the factory fuel pump fuse in order for the truck to run. Does any one have any experiance with the ADII 165 after I installed it all my issuses started?

Thanks

You need to wire it differently.

You need to splice the red wire from the AD (power wire) to the factory wire, which is purple with a white chaser located on the gray clip that went to the factory pump.
That red wire goes to the positive side of the battery and your black is your ground.

Has it ever ran correctly with the Airdog? Your wiring seems to alter the truck's "mind". Go with what beef taco said
