so lastnight i was leaving the bar drove 2 blocks and my truck just up and died and wouldnt start again, i had to get pulled home, i looked under the hood this morning and my belt is missing 2 ribs off the belt, y would that cause it not to start? :fustrate: and some of the belt is wrapped up in the a/c clutch.

I cant imagine that belt problems would stop the engine from running, unless a piece of the belt ripped the wires off of the cps.

I shredded a new belt in the same maner you did, and the belt tensioner caused it. First I would check that you have a full charge on the batteries, scan for codes and check to see what's torn up.

I had found a loose connection some where. Before my edge wouldn't come on. I got the truck on the charger now. Gunna go out after while and see if it will start.

All the pulleys seem good, the power steering pulley has a little bit of play in it. The truck won't even fire when I try to bump start it.

did it throw any codes? Have u checked to see what the icp is while cranking? Also check stupid stuff like fuses, oil level, fuel in the fuel bowl etc. Sometimes its easy to skip over the small stuff

I don't have a way to check for codes. The check engine light hasn't come on. Which doesn't mean any thing. And how do you check the icp?

Also look closely to see if any of the pulleys are cocked to one side even slightly. Thats how I shredded 2 belts, it was barely off but it was difficult to see.

They can be checked manually. Not the most fun though. (third pic compliments of PS)

I replaced my belt three times until I figured out it was the tensioner pulley!! Took out the oil dipstick t-handle and electrical connection to ac compressor.
