I have a set of tunes from Eric and a set from Matt. Run Erics most of the time, but recently started running Matt's Unlimited Tow when I was towing. Haven't ran it much since I bought the things. I've noticed that when I run the UT, at idle the turbo cycles from open to closed constantly. Only does this in park at idle. It'll open for maybe 10 seconds, then close again for about the same amount of time, only to open again 10 seconds later. If it opens, you can touch the throttle and it'll close back up. Only does this on his unlimited tow, and only at idle in park. Doesn't happen with any of Eric's files, or Matt's SRL. What could cause that?

I've already emailed Matt about it... just haven't heard back from him yet. Wanted to get some of you guys opinions about it while I waited for Matt to respond.

From Matt...

"It is the vgt cleaning cycle. It made it into the later flashes. It knocks the carbon off the vanes."

And now I know!

Not sure of its effectiveness, but it's an odd feeling when you think something is going wrong!

Lol. It sure makes people around stop, look, and scratch their heads. Vacuum cleaner to deep rumble, vacuum to rumble. Over and over again. Ha!

It's common in the Dmax's as well. We get a customer every now and then asking the same thing. LOL I know of a couple 6.0's running Matt's tunes and it breaks some necks when they hear the turbo's cycle.

I'd love to go non vgt.... just can't justify the switch right now. That's the main thing I hate about a 6.0 The vacuum cleaner sound.

I've actually considered this just to quieten the truck down during warm up in the mornings. Old neighbors used to comment that the truck woke their kid up. Said he'd wake up and say "I hear an airplane!" But, they moved, and the new neighbors I could care less for. Dude does love talking about how good the truck sounds though.
