OBS strange occurrences

96 psd, fairly new injectors, d66, yadayada

Started with a white smoke cloud, and cam sensor code.

Replaced sensor and started, truck was burping white smoke, coughing through intake. Thought it was head gasket or hung injector. Wasn't using water, no bubbles. Found an injector copper washer melted, o ring burnt. Replaced all injector o rings, reinstalled.

Tried another new cam sensor. No change.

Installed headstuds while I was in there.

Buzz test reveals injectors 1 3 5 problems. Ford tech said the new gray cam sensor will cause it to throw those codes.

Crazy part: unplugging the harness to #1 #2 injectors makes the motor run smoother, more power.

Replaced idm, no change..
Injector eff'ed up internally? O and no, the injector wires/plug are not crossed

Have you checked for burned UVCH connections? Assuming you have but I didn't see it in your post.

Am re-checking today. Didn't see anything the first time, and the buzz test sounds good on all 8. Just don't wanna pay 250 for injector flow test, then turn around and spend another 2400 for another set of injectors...

It's raining, can't do anything now. trying to attach a video now. got rid of the smoke and knock with the new injector o-rings and cam sensor, but still running ****ty, no smoke though. barely able to rev up to 2k.

see attached, had to shrink size to upload. sound is the important part IMO

video is from original problem. Smoke and fuel knock is gone, still not 100%. Can't figure how disconnecting injectors helps anything, unless they are hanging open and flooding cylinders

Looks and sounds like a cracked nozzle to me.
What size are the injectors?

Ended up being a short in the engine harness at the valve cover plug. Computer was shutting off the right bank.
Runs like a champ now..
